The most common fob fault is also the cheapest fix: a dead coin-cell battery. Symptoms are gradual — you need to stand closer and closer for the car to respond, until one day it doesn't respond at all.

We replace fob batteries for all makes (£10–£25 including the battery) and show you how to do it yourself next time. Most fobs take a CR2032 or CR2025 — but opening some fobs without the right technique breaks the clips, so be gentle.

If the fob is beyond repair — or lost entirely — we supply, cut and program a brand-new fob to your car. The new fob is coded to your vehicle's immobiliser using professional diagnostic equipment, and we test every button and the remote start (if fitted) before we leave.

Dealer replacement fobs typically cost £200–£400+ and take days to order. Our mobile service is usually same-day and significantly cheaper.

Dealers order from the manufacturer — slow and expensive. We carry the most common fobs in stock and program on-site. For rare or very new models we may need to order, but we'll tell you that upfront with a clear timescale.
